It starts with art

Owner-Operator Scott Sanders

“I started my creative journey years ago as a painter with realism landscapes. I bring this same level of artistry to all my woodworking designs, from hand-carved leaf motifs to perfectly formed angles.”

I started woodworking as a way to provide quality furniture for my family. Building what my family needed in the space we had provided a loving way to give a part of myself to them for years to come. I started using the name Scissortail Concepts after the numerous Scissortail Flycatcher birds surrounding our home. I caught the attention of clients with my homemade game table, and performed side jobs in my time off from working as an EMT for CareFlite. I furthered my skills by working part time with a furniture refurbishing craftsman. Eventually I stepped out of EMS and into a long-term subcontracting job with CE Design as the Lead Craftsman. There I was in charge of the completion of high-end, designer-commissioned pieces. Today I run my own shop with care and artistry for each job, from the initial phone call to the final handshake.
